A rainbow on my way into work on Monday morning has to mean that it’s going to be a good week, right?
After about two weeks of slacking, both on half marathon training and healthy eating, I’m declaring this week Back On Track Week, and it’s going pretty well so far. Even though I was at work late because of a parent meeting (which went very well, thankfully), I still made it to the gym, did three miles on the treadmill, lifted, and got in a good stretch before coming home.
Eating went OK today:
Breakfast: The Usual (turkey bacon, scrambled egg whites, cheese, tomato slices, wheat bread)
Mid-Morning Snack: banana (I haaaate bananas but they’re so portable)
Lunch: Turkey sandwich (w/ cheese, ALL the spinach, wheat bread), grapes, orange slices
Pre-Workout Snack: Nature Valley protein bar
Dinner: Warm Pasta Salad with Italian Turkey Sausage, minus eggplant and vinegar, green beans with almonds
Other Snacks: 1 mini kit kat, 1 mini Hershey bar, 1 Hershey kiss (curse you, leftover Valentine candy!)
Not bad. I’ll be able to stick better to my “one treat a day” rule now that this candy is gone!
